Monday, 20 February, 2017

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal recently opened one of two new Edinburgh Imaging facilities at the Queen's Medical Research Institute (QMRI) and the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE). Two advanced medical scanners have been installed as part of a £14 million makeover of research imaging facilities at the University of Edinburgh, and on the 14th February 2017 the University's Chancellor opened the new suite at RIE, housing a high powered MRI brain scanner.

These new facilities will provide state of the art research imaging across the life-course from birth to old age, allowing researchers to explore disorders such as autism and epilepsy, schizophrenia, stroke and dementia.
