This is the fourth international conference in this series, following on from the:

1999: ‘The Maternal Brain’, Bristol, UK
2003: ‘Mother and Infant’, Montreal, Canada
2007: ‘The Parental Brain’, Boston, USA

The Parental Brain: Neurobiology, Behaviour and the Next Generation international conference will be held from 1st - 4th September 2010 in Edinburgh, Scotland and will address the recent developments in neurobiological and behavioural adaptations occurring in preparation for parenthood and the impact on offspring quality of life; with basic and clinical perspective.

Conference Themes

  • Adaptations in pregnancy and lactation
  • Early life programming
  • Perinatal influence on mental health
  • Maternal and paternal behaviour

In addition to the top class programme of speakers, this conference presents a wonderful opportunity to experience Scottish hospitality and culture. The conference fee will include a welcome reception at The Royal Society of Edinburgh, George Street on the evening of 1st September and a Scottish Gala Dinner and Ceilidh at the Balmoral Hotel on the evening of 3rd September.
