6th UK Preclinical Stroke Symposium
Join us for this two-day symposium covering a range of topics including preclinical modelling of stroke and cerebrovascular disease, neurogliovascular function, neuroimaging, stroke immunology, vascular contributions to cognitive impairment and dementia, stroke recovery/complications, and therapeutic approaches to stroke and vascular dementia.
The symposium will include a mix of invited and flash talks selected from abstracts (ECR focussed), presentations from funders/societies, a lived experience talk from a stroke survivor, and plenty discussion over food and drink…including a symposium dinner at Blonde restaurant!

Registration includes the symposium dinner on evening of Monday 4th September (see below).
We invite abstract submissions for selection to give flash talks (ECRs will be prioritised in dedicated sessions). Please submit abstracts (300 words max, no figures, include confirmation of ECR status) to laura.mcculloch@ed.ac.uk by Fri 30th June 2023. ECR eligibility = MSc/PhD, postdoc, independent fellow or equivalent non-tenured staff <12y from PhD award.
All ECRs who submit an abstract will have their registration fee waived and ECRs selected for a flash talk will additionally receive a £250 bursary to help cover travel and accommodation costs, kindly enabled by the generous support of our sponsors.
