Neuroscience Day 2017 poster and talk winners!

Congratulations to our Neuroscience Day 2017 poster and talk competition winners!!   The judges found their job very difficult this year and they commented that the poster standard was very high.  We also had the people poster prize again this year, which everyone could vote on. So, without further delay, the winners were:

PhD Student Poster Competition - Overall winner

Alastair Rooney, PhD Student, Centre for Regenerative Medicine for his poster 'Niche signalling and adult neurogenesis'.  Alastair wins a £250 prize to visit a conference or training course of his choice.

PhD Student Poster Competition - Runners-up

Declan King, PhD Student, The Roslin Institute for his poster 'Utilisation of in-vitro models to facilitate the study of early mechanisms of misfolded protein formation, accumulation and clearance'.

Maica Llavero Hurtado, PhD Student, The Roslin Institute. fro her poster 'Molecular profiling of differentially vulnerable synaptic populations and in-vivo phenotypic assessment identifies regulators of neuronal stability'.

Declan and Maica both receive a prize of £100.

People Poster Prize Winner

As voted by the attendees, the most popular poster was:

Nathalie Courtney, PhD Student, Centre for Integrative Physiology on 'Investigating the timing of pathology in motor neurons of the Smn2B/- mouse model of Spinal Muscular Atrophy'. Nathalie wins a £100 prize.

Student three minute talk winner

Yana Aleksandrova, PhD student, The Roslin Institute. Yana wins a £250 prize to visit a conference or training course of her choice.
