Public Engagement Award for Dr Stella Chan

Dr Stella Chan (Clinical Psychology) has been awarded the British Psychological Society Public Engagement and Media Award for 2017. Stella is involved with many outreach events and projects in Edinburgh, centered around resilience, depression and youth mental health. These have included putting together and hosting the ‘Resilience for Depression’ events with Edinburgh Neuroscience. She has also been running Project Soothe (previously featured in our emails) which invites members of the public to submit photographs that make them feel soothed, and the panel particularly highlight this work in their award letter. Stella will be presented with the award in May at the Society’s Annual Conference and, in addition, she is given lifetime membership and Fellowship of the Society. Congratulations Stella!
