Undergraduate programmes with involving the study of the brain and/or mind

There are three undergraduate programmes with a defined Neuroscience component:

Neuroscience BSc (Hons) 

MBchB Medicine with an intercalated year of research-based study in Neuroscience. 

Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery (Hons) with an intercalated year of research-based study in Neuroscience. 

However, there are over 60 programmes across the whole of the University that explore different aspects of the brain and related avenues of study from behaviour, cognition, disease, stem cells, computation,  philosophy and so much more...

Cognitive Science 
Cognitive Science (Humanities) 

Cognitive Science connects the disciplines that contribute to the study of human cognition: linguistics, philosophy, psychology and computer science.  This programme aims to give students a broad understanding of issues such as the:

  • relationship between language and thought
  • relationship between mind and brain
  • philosophical implications of our ability to look inside the brain and to model its activities in computers and robots
