It's here! The Midlothian Science Festival 2018 starts on Saturday 06 October and lasts for two weeks. Many of our reserachers are contributing so take a look at where you can find us:

Science Alive! GalaSaturday 06 October 2018, 11 am - 4 pm, Lasswade Centre, Bonnyrigg, Midlothian.  Find us at this large event celebrating the body. There will be brains!

Happiness in Everyday LifeWednesday 10 October 2018, 6.30 - 8 pm, Ikea, Loanhead, Midlothian.  For World Mental Health Awareness Day, Prof Stephen Lawrie, Prof Catharine Ward Thomson and Dr Stella Chan discuss happiness, does it keep us healthy?  Free!

Human Prion Disease in 2018Friday 12 October 2018, 7.30 - 9pm, St David's Catholic Church, Dalkeith, Midlothian.  Join Dr Neil Mckenzie for a roller-coaster history of the BSE outbreak and epidemic, and how it is still affecting the human population today.

Bird Stress in Your Back YardSunday 14 October 2018, 10 - 12 noon, Bee Academy, Newbattle Abbey College.  Join Grorgia Longmore, PhD student from The Roslin Institute to learn how we can observe, track and help local birds affected by towns, traffic, light and noise pollution

Feel Good Science,  Saturday 20 October 2018, 11 am - 4 pm, Loanhead Library, Loanhead, Midlothian.  A day dedicated to you… Your health, happiness and wellbeing. There will be brains!

Plus, our getBRAINY workshops for schools are visiting schools as well: getPROTECTED visits Woodburn Primary School on Thursday 11 October 2018 (other visits being confirmed)
