Our EdNeuro Community

From postgraduate students to professors, Edinburgh Neuroscience provides a real community environment for all our researchers and a vibrant hub for our research activity, by bringing together neuroscientists from different disciplines and from across the research centres of the university (and beyond).

Our Community - Connected and Informed
Edinburgh Neuroscience works hard to create a dynamic, connected community or research scientists. We provide an information hub for our researchers to keep them informed of seminars, intersting news and funding opportunities.  We also organise scientific and social events that encourage interdisciplinary interaction, and make sure that everyone is able to fully participate in our community.

Our International Community
Our commitment to research excellence has led us to develop three major international research partnerships with:

• Aarhus University, Denmark: Edinburgh Neuroscience is spearheading the European initiative in Excellence in European Doctoral Training. The ExEDE project, which encompases research disciplines across the entire University of Edinburgh, aims to develop quality standards in joint doctoral training. Edinburgh Neuroscience is the first organisation to have students recruited into the programme and undertaking Joint PhD’s with Aarhus University.
• Brain Centre Rudolf Magnus, Utrecht: Edinburgh Neuroscience has a partnership with BCRM spanning mutiple areas of neuroscience. We have a dynamic exchange of students and research staff for short laboratory placements and training courses. We also hold joint research symposia and many of our researchers have collaborative research projects with researchers in Utrecht.
• Centre for Brain Development and Repair, Bangalore: Edinburgh Neuroscience members are working with colleagues at the National Centre for Biological Sciences and InStem in Bangalore, India to establish the joint Centre for Brain Development and Repair, Bangalore.  Edinburgh Neuroscience has Associate Directors running research programmes at the Centre, which currently focuses on research into autism and intellectual disabilities. There is a dynamic exchange of both researchers and students.
